CSA 5/31

Before I got my CSA today, Marcella and I made some Kale-Aid! We made it with apples, celery, ginger, lemons, kale, and cucumber. It had a really strong ginger flavor, but otherwise it was better than expected!

Today I got another quart of strawberries! The berries last week were sooooo delicious. I think I might just eat these plain.

I got some turnip greens:

I got more kale, more salad mix, and sugar snap peas. One of my favorite veggies!

Green onions and radishes:

And of course, a dozen more eggs.

This week I'm planning on making:

CSA 5/24

Today's CSA was huge! Here's what I got:

Spinach, broccoli rabe, mixed salad greens

Kale. Lots and lots of Kale. I'm going to try making kale-aid.

Snow peas, eggs, green onions, heirloom popcorn, and rosemary

And strawberries! Big, juicy, ripe strawberries!

This week I'm planning on making:
I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the rosemary. Maybe a potato recipe. I might also try drying some of it!

Wednesday WIPs

I have to works in progress to share!

1. I started knitting a cowl from handspun yarn.  Here's what the fiber looked like:

I divided the fiber into four colors- blue, green, brown, and purple and spun them into mini skeins:

Now I'm knitting them into a garter stripe cowl:

2. A spin-in-progress! This is fiber dyed by Southern Cross Fibre. David runs a fiber club in which he dyes two colorways each month. I get both colorways every month which is such a treat! I'm working on spinning up Adrenaline Rush on Spelsau wool. Here's what the fiber looked like:

I spun up my singles and will ply them together next:

I finally had a sunny day so I got to take pictures this morning! I have a few finished items to share.

I knit up a pair of socks:

The yarn is Gypsy Queen, dyed by Nest Fiber Studio. Here's what the yarn looked like after I spun it:

I also got another skein of Nest fiber spun up. This is Lovesick on Falkland wool:
